Oles Take Bull By The Horns

AP (Salem, OR) - The Salem Oles completed a blockbuster trade yesterday acquiring a couple high-priced veterans in Mike Florie and starting pitcher Harry Mateo. In exchange for the former All-Star and 3-time Cy Young winner, the Oles parted ways with a trio of talented players including 1B/DH Harry Hudson, starting pitcher Derek Fiore and a top-rated prospect, Carlos Barcelo.
It is believed that the key players in the deal were actually Mateo and Barcelo. The Oles (evegoe) were looking for a top-of-the-rotation stud that could help them win now, while the Baymen (dalailama12) would not make the deal if it did not include a top prospect. Fiore will take Mateo's spot in the Baymen rotation, while Florie will most likely take Hudson's spot in the Oles lineup. With Hudson's career on the downswing, he'll probably be a part-time player in Tacoma unless someone gets injured.
